…I wrote this for you ♡
This is the only external/physical related beauty post you’ll find on this blog that’s all about accompanying you on your journey towards living your best life. So trust me when I say it’s the one glow up guide you’ll need to glow up easily, quickly and overnight. (Pssst, personally, the only part of this guide I keep coming back to you is the bonus tip at the end—you’ll get it once you get to it—I promise.) If you could only do one thing on this list, it’d better be the bonus tip…
(Note: you don’t need to do everything on this list to glow up overnight, simply choose whatever makes you feel like your best self.)

Your Body
1. Good Posture
Lift your head up, princess, otherwise your crown is going to fall.
I see you—and me—hunched over a digital device right now. Gurrl, sit up straight please. It’ll make you look so much taller and more confident. It’s such a simple, easy thing yet it makes a HUGE difference.
Something that really helps with your posture is…
2. Exercise
EXERCISE CAN GIVE YOU OVERNIGHT BENEFITS—LISTEN UP!
24 hour benefits of exercise:
- improves your posture as it makes you more aware of your body and it builds up muscles to good postures easier
- improves your mood (according to Harvard Medical School) which will make more people attracted to you on a level deeper than just based off of your looks
- improves your quality of beauty sleep tonight (according to John Hopkins Medicine’s Exercising for Better Sleep)
- it’s your first step towards making an active lifestyle a habit, which you will reap long-term benefits from.
3. Shower
A cleansing shower is the perfect thing after a sweaty workout.
There are so many glow up tips revolving around showers…
4. Exfoliate
Exfoliating is the best tip for smoother and softer skin. It allows moisturisers to be absorbed more effectively. (It also allows you get a closer shave and reduces ingrown hairs.)
Depending on your scrub or exfoliator and skin type, you may want to exfoliate 1-2 times a week.
Here are 5 DIY body scrub recipes from Healthline. You can also buy body scrubs from most shops.
5. Remove Your Body Hair If You Want
6. Moisturise
Your skin does a lot of repairing and rejuvenation overnight and moisturising helps with this process to make your skin extra soft and smooth.
7. Manicure & Pedicure
You can get your nails done or painted.
If (like me) you’d prefer not to, cutting, filing and buffing them will make your natural nails shinier, neater and smoother.
8. Eat Healthy
It’ll make your skin glow like nothing else on this list.
In order to look good, you need to feel good.
And you’ll feel so much better after eating healthy—your energy and mood will be way higher and people you’ll spend time around will thank you for it.
9. Debloat
My holy grail debloat hacks I swear by include warm showers and lemon water (this is just what works wonders for me).
10. Beauty Sleep
It’s not called beauty sleep for nothing! This is your reminder to aim for at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
Also every time I think about beauty sleeps, I think of the sleep-and-weight fact from The Intern lol (it comes right near the end of this clip).
How to romanticise beauty sleeping:
cute pajamas, silk bedding and pillowcases will make you feel like the ultimate spoiled princess while you sleep <3
Your Face
11. Hydrate
I know there’s a lot of information all over the place telling you how many glasses of water you should drink daily. BUT THERE’S SUCH A LITERALLY EASY WAY TO KNOW (see point 1 below).
Signs that you’re a hydrated queen:
- your pee is usually a clear to pale yellow colour
- your face has fewer lines than your dehydrated-self
- your skin is bright and not dehydrated-ly dull
- you don’t have really dark under-eye circles
(According to Healthline and Mayo Clinic)
12. Tweeze Your Eyebrows to Suit Your Face Shape
13. Jawline Exercises
Jawline exercises can help tighten your jawline because “the tightness in the jaw line is somewhat due to the [jaw’s] muscle strength” says Dr Russak, an award-winning dermatologist.
“The muscles (especially at the corners of the jaw), if you exercise them and bulk them up a little bit, will tighten and pull the jaw line back […] to give you a tighter definition” she says.
You’ll find heaps of jawline exercises on YouTube.
Another way is to simply chew gum. (Warning: don’t chew gum 24/7 otherwise you will hurt your temporomandibular joints according to the Cleveland Clinic.)
On the bright side, chewing gum may also…
14. Whiten Your Teeth
If you want to have a sparkly smile, you can use whitening toothpastes, strips or whitening emulsions and refrain from staining drinks like coffee and tea.
15. Steam Your Face
A few things steaming your face can do for you (according to Healthline):
- open up your pores
- release trapped sebum and acne-causing bacteria and cells
- promotes collagen and elastin
- hydrates your skin
- allow your skin to better absorb your skin-care products
There are many ways to steam your face, from the simple and free to the costly and luxurious depending on what you—and your wallet—wants.
You can:
- Steam your face over a bowl of boiled water for 5-10 minutes (with essential oils if you want).
- Steam with a warm towel after you’ve cleansed your face by soaking the towel in hot water, wringing it so that the towel is damp and not dripping, then lie down or lean back on to a cosy chair and drape the towel over your face for 5 minutes (by holding each the corners of the towel up together to avoid more dripping).
- Steam with a home facial steamer for 2-3 minutes at a safe distance from your steamer according to its instructions.
- Get a professional steam facial.

16. Skin-care Routine
Although I’m not qualified to give you specific skin-care advice, nothing can hurt from starting with the basics.
A skincare routine to trust should look something like this:
- Cleanse your face with a face cleanser (you can double cleanse if that works for you).
- Exfoliate, especially for acne-prone or/and oily skin—like me. I’ve only used one exfoliator ever and sometime through my first bottle, my skin has cleared up. I don’t know what I did during that time that helped the most with getting clearer skin: Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, eating less processed sugary foods or manifesting lol. (By the way, this isn’t sponsored but I still wanted to share my game-changer because the La Vie En Rose community never gate keeps ♡ don’t forget that what works for me might not work for you—especially if you have a different skin type.)
- Apply a toner if you find that it works for you (I’m too lazy for this step lol).
- Apply a serum if you find that it works for you.
- Apply an eye cream if you want.
- Moisturise.
That’s the foundation of a glowing skin-care routine, however if you want extra…
17. Use a Face Mask
Face masks are a simple thing that can make a big, quick difference.
Know what your skin type is:
- If your skin gets shiny or oily, you probably have oily skin.
- If your skin gets flaky or tight, you probably have dry skin.
- If you only get shiny or oily areas on your forehead and nose area, you probably have combination skin (like me!).
- If your skin is like none of the above and is just comfortable and hydrated, you probably have normal skin.
Then, get clear on what your skin goals are and find a face mask that will work with you on that.

18. De-puff Your Eyes
By now you should know the importance of beauty sleep, but it’s okay if you haven’t been sleeping well lately because you can catch up on it tonight and, plus, there are many ways to fake the beauty that comes from beauty sleeps:
- Use an eye cream: if you do, I recommend placing it in a cool place so when you use it, the coolness helps with the puffiness around your eyes and it also makes the product stay fresher for longer!
- Use an eye mask: if you don’t want to buy one, an easy at home remedy is to mash up an avocado and place it under your eyes for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. Avocado’s healthy fatty acids can nourish, hydrate and soften your skin on top of diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Avocado’s antioxidants can help unclog pores, shed dead skin cells and exfoliate the skin. (According to Healthline.)
19. Use a Facial Roller
Best to do if before moisturising.

20. Gua Sha
Best to do it after moisturising.

21. Long Lashes
You can use an eyelash serum, but what I love to use is vaseline. I find that vaseline is such a versatile and simple product that helps with your eyelash growth and health by preventing it from getting dry, brittle and breaking off. I use it every night and I’ve noticed such a difference—I love it!
You know what else vaseline can do for you?
22. Smooth Lips
- Extra: use a lip scrub to exfoliate and gently scrub off flaky, dry and dead skin cells. Making your own lip scrub is the easiest DIY on this list: mix 2 teaspoons of sugar with a teaspoon of honey—and voila! Massage it into your lips and leave it there for around 10 minutes before washing it off.
- Then apply a lip balm—or vaseline!
Your Hair
There are all sorts of hair types out there and many of them need special care that quick, little fixes might not be able to give. But here are a couple of things you could do to give your hair some love!
23. Get a Trim That Suits Your Face Shape
Or you could just simply cut off those annoying split ends that you know you need to!
24. Dye Your Hair a Colour That Suits Your Skin Tone
25. Massage Your Sculpt
Just use your hands and massage your sculpt in a way that feels good to you.
You can apply a hair oil while massaging too.
26. Brush Your Hair
Brushing your hair is the easiest way to not look like Hagrid lol.
27. Hair Mask
Hair masks can restore your hair’s strength, health and elasticity while hydrating it like a deep conditioner. Continue reading if you want long, silky, Rapunzel hair and an overnight hair glow up.
Keeping a hair mask overnight with a shower cap is also a great idea.
Here’s Healthline’s Everything You Need to Know About Using a Hair Mask
28. Blow Dry Hair
You can use blow dry brushes (or a hair dryer and a cylindrical brush) to add that extra bounce in your walk with that perfect blow out looking like you just stepped out of a salon.
29. Sleep With a High Bun in a Silk Scrunchie
Tomorrow morning, you will no longer have to worry about losing your blow out or getting knots and ending up tangled instead of looking like Rapunzel.
30. Use a Silk Pillowcase
Doing this will not only protect your hair, but also your skin as the smoothness will prevent your face from looking like a creased pillow tomorrow morning. In the long-term, it’ll also minimise wrinkles. Though silk pillowcases are pricier, they can last a long time with proper care and the benefits will outweigh the costs.
Your Next Morning
31. A Cute Outfit is a Must
Wear a cute outfit that flatters your body shape and makes you feel comfortable and confident.
32. Style Your Hair
(If you’d like something more after a blow out and sleeping with a high bun on a silk pillowcase.)
33. Makeup That Suits Your Face
